An excellent three tracks to accompany last December's British Ballads album by ex-Jack main player Anthony Reynolds. Vashti Bunyan's contribution to this three-track EP is the obvious choice as a standout, the choral and string arrangement's continue→

mirroring the ethereal, dreamlike quality of her vocal performance while haunting electronic tones lift the piece beyond the spectrum of traditional folk fare. New song 'Like The Sun Feeds From The Flowers' is a collaboration with Charlotte Greig, all sounding splendidly like a Nashville duet on this recording (but with Brit accents, obviously). Finally, the simple violin and electric guitar arrangement of 'It Isn't So' delivers an especially raw piece of gothic folk, perhaps reminiscent of I See A Darkness-era Bonnie 'Prince Billy or Nick Cave. Very good indeed.

Tres excelentes pistas para acompañar el último álbum -British Ballads- del fundador y ex Jack, Anthony Reynolds. La contribución de Vashti Bunyan a este EP es obviamente lo mas destacado, los arreglos coral y de cuerdas reflejan la etérea y surreal calidad de su interpretación vocal, mientras que los inquietantes tonos electrónicos levantan la pieza más allá del espectro del folk tradicional. La nueva canción 'Like The Sun Feeds From The Flowers' es una colaboración con Charlotte Greig, todo suena espléndidamente, como una especie de dúo de Nashville con acento británico. Por último, el sencillo arreglo de violín y guitarra eléctrica en 'It Isn't So', ofrece una pieza especialmente cruda de gothic folk, tal vez una reminiscencia de la época I See A Darkness de Bonnie Prince Billy, o Nick Cave.
