Originally, the band was formed as an instrumental band in 2003 with two guitars and drums. Soon after the began adding more members and the band became tighter and Peter started, first in Englishcontinue→

and later in Spanish, to write lyrics. Together with the arrival of North American Jonah Schwartz and his mandolin, the current formation was reached and the band turned its musical visions towards Country and Folk landscapes while maintaining their identity as a Rock band. Like this, the music of Los Álamos both spurs and breaks through the local self-dubbed Narco-Country scene.

Recorded their second album in 2006, “Emboscada”, an EP of rarities, live songs, and covers of some of their favorite musicians: Neil Young, Friends of Dean Martinez, Spacemen 3 y East River Pipe.

The music of Los Álamos is influenced by such luminaries as: Leonard Cohen, Neil Young, Robert Johnson, John Fahey, Bob Dylan, Velvet Underground, Love, Spacemen 3, Spiritualized, Tindersticks, The Cramps and Johnny Cash.

The six ramblers that make up the band haven’t yet stopped for breath and they are continually pushed by auspicious winds at every crossroads. Their songs resound as sharply as gunshot, maybe it’s this that continues waking up the people in every city they pass through …

Originalmente formada como banda instrumental en el 2003, con dos guitarras y batería, poco después comenzaron a agregar más miembros a la banda, se ajustaron, y Peter comenzó, primero en inglés y luego en español, a escribir letras de canciones. Junto con la llegada del norteamericano Jonás Schwartz y su mandolina, la formación de la banda le dio la visión musical hacia paisajes folk-country, manteniendo su identidad como banda de rock. De esta manera, la música de Los Álamos, impulsa a través de la autodenominada escena local Narco-Country.
